Monthly Disposable Contacts

It is estimated that around 38 million people in the United States use contact lenses with more than 120 million regular contact wearers worldwide. Since contacts are all about convenience, it should come as no surprise that monthly disposable contacts are appealing to those who wear contacts on a regular basis. Monthly disposable contact lenses are designed to be worn for a period of one to three months or as directed by your eye doctor and then thrown away once that period is over.

Popular brands of monthly disposable contacts include Focus, Air Optix Aqua, Proclear Compatibles, Biofinity and Purevision. Prices for monthly disposable contacts are generally reasonable. Following the initial prescription, contacts can usually be refilled online for convenient delivery right to your door. It is important to use a re-wetting solution to keep your eyes lubricated when wearing any type of contacts. A plain saline solution also works. It is important to keep your eyes moist when wearing contact lenses, especially ones designed to be worn for long periods of time such as monthly disposable contacts.

If debris gets into your eyes or on your contact lens, simple side the contact over and then look to each side, roll your eyes to clear any debris and place the contact back in place. Just because contacts may be worn for a month doesn’t mean you cannot remove them sooner. If you feel any discomfort or irritation you should remove your contacts immediately and rinse out your eyes. The contacts will need to be rinsed again in solution before they are placed back into your eyes. It is important to see your eye doctor if any discomfort persists. Monthly disposable contacts should only be worn for approximately a month or as directed by your doctor. Contacts should not be worn longer than intended.
